Gensym Customer Survey - Jan 2009

Gensym/Versata is happy to announce the Gensym customer survey Jan 2009. This is a very important survey, and you can expect to gain significant value from participating in the survey process. Note that this survey will be used to determine Gensym's OS/platform support strategy going forward; we highly recommend taking this survey so your deployment platform/OS can be recorded as being used by your organization; this will help Gensym with identifying which platforms are no longer deployed on and can be depracated. This survey is also a mechanism for you as an organization to directly and signficantly affect the Gensym product roadmap.

You will be able to take the survey by clicking on this link: Gensym Customer Survey - Jan 2009

Press Release: Gensym G2 bundle 8.4r1

AUSTIN, TX – April 01, 2009 - Gensym Corporation (Gensym), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Versata Enterprises, Inc. (Versata), announces the release of the Gensym G2 8.4R1 platform. This release demonstrates Gensym’s continued leadership in the demanding discipline of model-driven real time decision management systems.  For more than 20 years, Gensym G2 has been the platform of choice for developing real time solutions to meet the most rigorous demands for stability and performance in the field of manufacturing, communications, government, transportation, aerospace, and finance.

Gensym G2 8.4R1 delivers enhanced features, reliability, and performance to Gensym customers.  “This Gensym release provides dramatic improvements in memory management, performance, scalability, and developer productivity,” said Patrick Nichols, Gensym General Manager.  “This translates directly into lower TCO and greater ROI for our customers.”  Benchmark tests of G2 8.4R1 demonstrates doubled system performance and more efficient memory management by 3x.

“The core G2 product suite is now more scalable, supporting enterprise-scale databases and even larger, more complex scripts,” said Charlie Wiemann, Gensym Account Director.  “Gensym G2 now provides support for up to 2 million characters in the string data type and includes a new Unicode ODBC database bridge to provide full internationalization support.  This release represents a significant leap forward with enhancements in every major system module.”  G2 8.4R1 also includes enhanced G2 user interface elements, improved modelling capabilities in SymCure and streamlined event definition in Integrity to improve developer efficiency.

Gensym continues to leverage direct customer involvement to deliver Product release contents driven by Gensym’s Customer Success Program and interactive Product Road Map process. These programs ensure rapid product evolution to provide tangible benefits to Gensym customers.

“The Customer Success Program provides a forum for Gensym customers to define personalized success metrics and measure performance against these metrics to track Gensym’s contribution to their business goals,” said Patrick Nichols, Gensym General Manager.  “This program provides customers with direct access to Gensym executives and measures results with a simple pass / fail grade to ensure alignment with customer goals.”

“The Customer Success Program and Product Road Map process differentiate us from our competitors by ensuring a close partnership with our customers” said Patrick Nichols. Consistent with Gensym’s philosophy of continuous improvement at a rapid pace, the next G2 release is scheduled for early June 2009 (8.4r2).
