Gensym G2 Software Supervises Space Station Operations

The Boeing Company interfaced six Gensym G2 servers to
incoming telemetry data to intelligently monitor International Space Station (ISS) subsystems, including the mechanical, structural, electrical, environmental and computational systems. The G2 servers continually inspect and analyze data transmitted from space during missions.

The system will help detect anomalies, investigate the cause, display important warnings, and locate the appropriate electronic documentation for further study if necessary. Anomalies will be anticipated before they become critical -- thus averting major problems.

Results: The system will enhance ground operations support by providing isolation, causal determination, and remedial advice for potential hardware and software problems. Boeing is NASA's prime contractor on the International Space Station program.
